LUTZ, FLA. — Eagle Product Inspection recently highlighted the Pack 320 PRO which looks to bring X-ray analysis to the meat and poultry industry.
The machine can be used for inspecting small to mid-size packaged products where inspection performance is important, such as with checking fill levels in multi-compartment frozen meals, contaminant detection in bags of salad, checking the total weight of deli meats, and contaminant detection in packaged sandwiches.
The Pack 320 PRO can perform multiple control checks in a single pass with precision and accuracy, including contamination detection, mass measurement, packaging integrity and component counts.
The X-ray inspection technology detects physical contaminants regardless of their size, shape or location within a product.
The inspection system provides 331 mm (13 inches) of inspection coverage at the belt and high-speed imaging up to 119 meters per minute (390 FPM). Mass and weight measurement with X-ray technology provides an additional layer of process control and due diligence to ensure high quality and prevent product giveaways. The machine can measure multiple zones with or without EU tolerances and provide zone measurements for multiple content items.
The Pack 320 PRO will work for package integrity as a quality control issue to identify and reject deformed packaging and ensure the product is not trapped in packaging seals.
“Performing component count with X-ray technology is quicker and far more reliable than other inspection methods because X-ray systems can look inside sealed packaging for verification,” the company said.
Eagle Product Inspection also noted that its Pack 320 PRO features SimulTASK PRO advanced imaging and processing software that provide high resolution and detailed X-ray images with the highest grayscale range from 0-65,535. The Eagle TraceServer X-ray software program records production data and machine status information from one or more of Eagle’s X-ray machines and consolidates it into a single centralized database.
