CHICAGO — In a joint venture between The Kraft Heinz Co. and TheNotCo. Inc., The Kraft Heinz Not Co. LLC is launching two new products as its first plant-based meat innovations, the NotHotDogs and NotSausages.
The company said the products offer the savory and smoky experience that Oscar Mayer fans have enjoyed for more than 140 years.
“At The Kraft Heinz Not Company, our goal is to create mouthwatering, plant-based foods that are delicious and accessible for everyone — from the devoted vegan to the plant-based curious,” said Lucho Lopez-May, chief executive officer of The Kraft Heinz Not Co. “We know people are hungry for plant-based meat options from brands they know and trust. In launching the joint venture’s first product in the plant-based meat category, we saw an opportunity to satisfy these consumer cravings, leveraging NotCo’s revolutionary AI technology and the power, equity and legacy of the Oscar Mayer brand.”
NotHotDog and NotSausage will debut at Expo West from March 12-16 and are slated to roll out in major retailers nationwide later this year.
The launch of the plant-based meat products is a step in the joint venture’s continued expansion of its plant-based portfolio, which includes NotMac&Cheese, KRAFT NotCheese Slices and NotMayo.
The Kraft Heinz Not Co. plans to scale into new categories in the coming year. It also recently began international expansion.
