MERRIAM, KAN. — Seaboard Corporation has named Chad Groves to take over as president and chief executive officer of its pork segment, Seaboard Foods LLC. Groves will succeed Peter Brown, current president and CEO. Brown will retire effective June 30, 2024.
Groves has led the retail, foodservice, export, processor sales, marketing, sustainability and innovation teams at Seaboard Foods as senior vice president of global sales, marketing, and innovation since July 2021. Before joining Seaboard Foods, Groves served as vice president of sales, retail and foodservice at Trilliant Food & Nutrition LLC, and prior to that vice president of field sales, food service at High Liner Foods.
Groves received a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in selling and sales management and a master’s degree in business management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the board of directors and treasurer for the National Pork Board.
Peter Brown brought 30 years of executive leadership experience in the protein industry, including leadership positions with Butterball and High Liner Foods to Seaboard Foods in January 2021.
