CHICAGO — Fully-cooked chicken producer Amylu Foods announced the acquisition of Klement’s Sausage Co., a division of Tall Tree Foods, on May 7. The acquisition represents Amylu’s commitment to providing premium, high quality meat products.“The addition of Klement’s Sausage Co. to the Amylu Foods family marks a significant step in our growth strategy,” said Steven Zoll, chairman and chief executive officer of Amylu Foods. “We are excited to welcome this iconic Wisconsin brand into our portfolio and look forward to offering our customers an expanded range of premium meat products.”
Founded in 1956, Milwaukee, Wis.-based Klement’s Sausage has a history of crafting sausages from family recipes that are focused on quality and small-batch production.
In 2014, Altamont Capital Partners acquired Klement’s Sausage. It has since become a nationally distributed brand known for its snack sticks, summer sausages and smoked sausage varieties.
With the acquisition, Amylu will expand into new product categories, including snack sticks and summer sausage, and the company’s production capacity will increase.
This year, Amylu has already seen a 70% year-over-year growth. The company looks to open up new expansion opportunities with the addition of Klement’s Sausage.
“We are delighted to unite with the dynamic Amylu Foods family,” said Jeff Baker, president of Klement’s Sausage Co. “This strategic combination promises exciting prospects for both brands, empowering us to extend the reach of our cherished Wisconsin flavors to an even wider audience.”
