HAMBURG, PA. — Officials with Joe Jurgielewicz & Son, Ltd. (JJS) announced on May 14, the hiring of Benjamin Nava Vargas as Chef Ambassador for Cancun, Rivera Maya and Merida. Nava Vargas will represent JJS and work with its customers in Mexico as the company focuses on growing its presence in the segment. He has 24 years of international management experience, including working as a chef in Canadian, Mexican and South Korean dining establishments as well as working in the cruise industry. With JJS, Nava Vargas will focus on quality control, cuisine administration developing new recipes and menus for restaurant operators and chefs and allow them to exercise innovation while maximizing profit. Most recently, he served as the director of the Culinary Arts Program for the Technical University of Cancun.
“Chef Benjamin has an impressive pedigree that includes serving as a professional sommelier, Master Mezcalier, and serving as the Director of Culinary Degree Course at Technical University of the Riviera Maya, in addition to his culinary expertise,” said Joey Jurgielewicz III, director of business development at JJS. “We are looking forward to working with him as we continue expanding our international export business, including in the Mexican market, and welcoming new restaurant and resort partners to our family.”
