MERRIAM, KAN. — Seaboard Foods announced the appointment of Chad Groves as the company’s new president and chief executive officer, effective July 1. Groves succeeds Peter Brown, who is retiring.

Groves has been with Seaboard for three years, first serving in July 2021 as the senior vice president of global sales, marketing and innovation, leading retail, foodservice, export and processor sales, and the marketing, innovating, communications and sustainability team.

Before joining Seaboard, Groves held leadership positions at Trilliant Food & Nutrition LLC and High Liner Foods. He previously served as a board member and treasurer for the National Pork Board.

Groves earned his bachelor’s degree in selling and sales management from Perdue University and his master’s degree in business management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
