HOUSTON — Tyson Foods Inc. announced that it deployed the Meals that Matter disaster relief program July 11-13 for people impacted by Hurricane Beryl.
The company said it expected to distribute 5,000 meals per day at a local Houston Walmart and extend its stay during the week of July 15. Volunteers from Tyson will serve hot meals, ice and water and donated protein to the community.
According to an Associated Press report over the weekend, 350,000 homes and businesses are without power after the hurricane.
The program has deployed to 30 natural disaster sites since 2012 and provides products to food banks and organizations dealing with hurricanes, floods and tornadoes.
