AUSTIN, MINN. — In a nod to Korean culture and the growing trend of Korean barbecue seen on American menus, Spam, a Hormel Foods brand, has added its 12th permanent flavor to its lineup: Spam Korean BBQ Flavored.

The sweet and spicy flavor features a blend of umami, Korean-inspired spices, soy sauce, garlic ginger, paprika and sesame and a hint of spice from gochujang paste, according to the company.

“This new variety not only satisfies the comfort and nostalgia our current fans crave, but it also attracts new fans who are eager to try the sweet and zesty flavors that the Korean BBQ dish and experience offers,” said Jennesa Kinscher, senior brand manager for the Spam brand.

Spam Korean BBQ Flavored will be sold exclusively in Walmart nationwide, Walmart.com and spam.com.
