WASHINGTON — The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced its annual National Small Plant Roundtable will be held in conjunction with the Southwest Meat Association’s 68th Annual Convention & Suppliers Showcase. Held July 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the event can be attended virtually or in person at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Round Rock, Texas.
During the roundtable, FSIS officials will cover topics like agency initiatives, updating the Grant of Inspection, policy updates and labeling criteria.
Small and very small processors will be able to share their thoughts, concerns and suggestions with FSIS leadership from Washington, DC, and representatives from sister agencies like Rural Development and Agricultural Marketing Service.
FSIS requests interested attendees RSVP for the event, but it is not required.
