LEXINGTON, KY. – Alltech, an animal health and nutrition company, recently announced two new additions to its poultry and pork teams.

Steve Britton joined the company as a poultry account manager. He will focus on Ridley Feed Ingredients technologies and premix solutions and Alltech specialty products related to those industries with customers across the Midwest.

Britton previously worked as a strategic account manager with experience in the pharmaceutical, specialty ingredients and nutrition sectors. During his career, he honed his skills and knowledge in animal nutrition, poultry vaccines, strategic planning, sales operations and leadership.

“We are delighted to welcome Steve to the team,” said Curtis Novak, general manager of Alltech US poultry. “His knowledge and experience will enable our team to deliver even more value for our customers.”

Britton holds a master’s degree in business, management, marketing and related support services from Texas A&M University.

On the pork side of its business, Alltech hired Jamil Faccin, PhD, as a swine technical and nutrition specialist. He joined the company after completing his PhD and postdoctoral programs at Kansas State University.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Jamil Faccin to the Alltech US Pork team,” said Mark Hulsebus, sales and portfolio director at Alltech. “His knowledge and experience will enable our team to deliver even more value for our customers by providing in-depth knowledge of the species and its nutritional needs, as well as providing an additional technical production resource.”

Faccin is originally from southern Brazil and currently lives with his wife Paula in Manhattan, Kan. Before moving to the United States, he obtained a degree in veterinary medicine at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil.

Following his undergraduate, he worked for four years at BRF Foods providing management assistance for sow farms, GDUs, nurseries and finishers.

In 2017, he obtained a master’s degree at UFRGS where he led a partnership with his university and a pork production company to build and run nursery trials in commercial scenarios. His research during that time focused on nursery management and feeding strategies.

Three years later, he obtained his PhD at UFRGS and K-State Applied Swine Nutrition, conducting on-site trials involving more than 3,600 pigs at Master Agroindustrial, Brazil, and Holden Farms of Minnesota.

He worked on management of the nutrition of pigs with different weaning ages. He also studied the effects of the first week in the nursery on future pig performance.
