CARLYLE, ILL. — The Maschhoffs, a family-run swine operation, announced the launch of a new community outreach initiative designed to strengthen connections between the company and its local community. The Maschhoffs Impact is currently open and accepting grant applications.

The outreach program will focus on four key areas:

  • Community infrastructure and support – Fostering stronger community foundations through support such as Emergency Response Equipment grants, food insecurity programs and disaster relief initiatives.
  • Youth engagement – Investing in the next generation by supporting organizations like the FFA Foundation and 4-H, as well as providing grants and sponsorships for youth development in agriculture.
  • Ag education – Promoting agricultural literacy and career paths through scholarships, educational programs and hands-on learning opportunities.
  • Employee/partner initiatives – Offering scholarships, donation matching, volunteer days and support for unplanned events to create a positive environment for employees and partners.

“The Maschhoffs Impact represents more than business — it’s about truly engaging with and enhancing the communities we call home,” said Jay Miller, president and chief executive officer of The Maschhoffs. “We’re thrilled to launch this initiative, which will create a lasting, positive influence for generations to come.”

To be eligible to apply for support, projects must align with the focus areas and serve the communities where The Maschhoffs operates. Proposals can be submitted by employees, partners or community members and will be reviewed quarterly by The Maschhoffs Impact Board.

The Maschhoffs will measure success of the program through metrics like the number of organizations supported, budget allocation and employee volunteer participation. Regular updates on these metrics will be posted on The Maschhoffs’ website and social media.

“Our goal is to create a legacy of care and collaboration,” said Teri Foster, vice president of People & Culture at The Maschhoffs.
