AURORA, ILL. – Food processor OSI Group LLC announced its acquisition of Park 100 Foods, a privately owned company based in Tipton, Ind., that specializes in custom kettle-cooked food manufacturing.

OSI said acquiring Park 100 gives the company additional sauce-processing capabilities and entry into new categories.

Park 100 started in 1976 with a manufacturing facility of portioned breaded meats. It now produces kettle-formulated frozen soups, sauces, chili, side dishes, gravies and macaroni and cheese.

“This is an incredible partnership of similar cultures and business approaches that will help us broaden our overall OSI processing capabilities,” said Dave McDonald, chief executive officer and president of OSI. “The food business is all about relationships and Park 100 has done an excellent job providing unparalleled customer service. We are thrilled to have the Park 100 team join us as we explore new, unique solutions to meet the evolving needs of customers and consumers.”

Park 100 employs 600 people at its plants in Tipton, Morristown, and Kokomo, Ind., as well as Fort Worth, Texas.

When the acquisition is finalized, Rick Mager, co-president of Park 100, will become managing director of Park 100 Foods and join the OSI North America leadership team. Mager will report to Kevin Scott, senior executive vice president and leader of OSI North America. Other Park 100 leaders, CEO/Founder Jim Washburn, Founder Gary Meade, and Co-President David Alves, will work as consultants to assist with integration and transition.

“When we began looking at an organization that could carry on the Park 100 legacy, OSI clearly stood out as a customer-focused company with an impeccable reputation,” said Jim Washburn. “OSI not only has an impressive customer reach but also takes pride in its family atmosphere, which was a vital element when considering what was next for Park 100 teams.”

OSI noted that Park 100 Foods is the company’s largest acquisition to date.

Other acquisitions in recent years include IQI Trusted Petfood Ingredients, joining OSI Group in 2023.

In 2021, Amick Farms, a subsidiary of OSI Group, purchased a Wayne Farms poultry production plant in Laurel, Miss.

OSI also acquired pork processor Rose Packing Co. Inc., headquartered in Chicago in 2019.

Finally in 2018, OSI International Foods (Australia) and Turi Foods merged Australian operations, which is now known as Turosi Pty Ltd, a poultry processing operation.
