KANSAS CITY, KAN. — Prairie Fresh, a subsidiary of Seaboard Foods, announced its presence at the upcoming American Royal World Series of Barbecue Competition at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. The Prairie Fresh team will be offering a variety of opportunities to engage with pitmasters and enjoy a taste of Prairie Fresh products, including unique pork creations such as the Corn Hog — a twist on the classic corn dog.
The Prairie Fresh schedule of events is as follows:
Friday, Nov. 1:
- 5:30 p.m.: Prairie Fresh Private Party – Garage C
- Dinner tasting stations by The Shed, Jean-Paul Bourgeois, Pig Beach, and the US Coast Guard culinary team
- Don’t miss the “world’s first” Corn Hog by The Shed
Saturday, Nov. 2:
- 6:30-7:30 a.m.: Jean-Paul Bourgeois, Duck Camp Dinners, available for early morning media shots
- 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.: Prairie Fresh Pit Crew Pitmaster Appreciation Breakfast – Garage C
- 5:00 p.m.: Prairie Fresh Pig Out Rib Eating Competition – Main Stage
Sunday, Nov. 3:
- Prairie Fresh Pit Crew Extra Prize Program – Open Contest Rib Category
- Coast Guard Culinary Team competing at the Prairie Fresh garage
- They will be cooking all morning with the first turn in at noon
Prairie Fresh noted that for years its products have been used by pitmasters to win hundreds of barbecue contests across the United States, such as the American Royal World Series of Barbecue, Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest and several Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) competitions.
