WEST JORDAN, UTAH — Eleven people were sent to the hospital on Dec. 7 after a reported carbon monoxide leak at the Otto & Sons (OSI Industries) meatpacking facility in West Jordan, Utah.
Reports from the West Jordan Fire Department said that first responders found an unconscious woman at the plant right before 3 p.m. MST after responding to the call.
Officials stated that carbon monoxide readings were at 800 parts-per-million. The protocol for the fire crews is to wear respirators for anything more than 35 parts-per-million.
West Jordan Fire added that it received help from its neighboring fire departments.
