BONITA SPRINGS, FLA. — Innovative Food Holdings Inc., a provider of specialty foods, gourmet specialty meals, gluten-free foods and direct-from-source artisanal foods for chefs, has changed its name to Harvest Group Holdings Inc. The name change, the company said, comes after the company spent the last year and a half changing its focus and business model.
“These milestones represent a transformative chapter for our company as we continue to build a strong foundation for future success,” said Bill Bennet, chief executive officer of Innovative Food Holdings. “The name change to Harvest Group Holdings reflects our vision for future growth and broader market opportunities. Combined with the reverse stock split and new equity capital, these initiatives will drive shareholder value, prepare us for a Nasdaq uplisting, and enhance our ability to serve the evolving needs of our customers and partners.”
The company made several changes, including divesting, inactivating or shutting down eight entities within its corporate structure, as well as launching a new retail business and adding new customers within its drop ship business, according to the company.
The company acquired Organic Food Brokers LLC, a Boulder, Colo.-based company focused on launching and growing retail sales for small and emerging organic specialty food brands nationwide in 2014.
The acquisition also coincided with Innovative Food Holdings launching a retail channel offering for new and emerging brands.
The company said the rebranding to Harvest Group Holdings Inc., will reflect its growth strategy and new focus but also will reflect its original commitment to deliver fresh and artisanal products from the closest source possible.
