KANSAS CITY, MO. — As millions deal with a winter storm on Jan. 5 and 6 that’s moved from the Midwest into the Mid-Atlantic, meat and poultry processors continue to update plant closings and shifts.

Poultry processor Mountaire Farms posted on Facebook that it would be closing its Millsboro and Selbyville, Del., facility for the first two shifts.

“The Millsboro Admin Building will be closed, and employees should prepare to work from home,” Mountaire said. “All other locations for Mountaire, including RRP, should contact their supervisors to determine their schedule.”

Allen Harim Foods announced that it would close Harbeson and Millsboro for first and second shifts.

Wayne-Sanderson Farms stated on Jan. 6 that it would not operate on the first shift in Dobson, NC.

Several meat processing plants in Kansas, Missouri and Virginia stated on their social media accounts that they would be closed on Jan. 6.

More updates will come in throughout the afternoon.
