"We launched this product line in the second half of 2009, after consumer research pointed to a significant demand for quality, convenient BBQ meals. In that short time, we've seen Dinner for Two grow to represent more than 20 percent of our retail mix," said Greg Klein, Sadler's executive vice president of marketing. "Our authentic pit-smoked BBQ delivers authentic taste in a convenient, value priced package. As a result, we're seeing strong growth, with double distribution for the Dinner for Two line since its initial introduction."
Sadler's Smokehouse carefully selects, trims, seasons and pit-smokes its meats with natural hardwood coals for hours at a time, using the same time-honored techniques from when the company was founded in 1948.
These meals feature innovative packaging designed for easy microwave heating. The line was first introduced in the ready-to-eat refrigerated meal section of 1,400 retail stores and has now rolled out to nearly 3,000 grocery stores throughout the U.S.
Sadler's premium smoked meats, authentic barbecue dinners and other entrées are pioneers in the new segment of premium barbecue and fully cooked smoked meats. Its products are sold in 42 states and internationally and the company continues to expand since its 2007 acquisition by Wholesome Holdings Group LLC and Brazos Private Equity Partners LLC.
