FALLSBURG, N.Y. – Murray’s Chickens announced it has “amicably resolved” all issues with the U.S. Department of Agriculture resulting in full compliance with the requirements of the U.S.D.A.’s Food and Safety Inspection Services agency. As a result, U.S.D.A. has ordered a full reinstatement of Murray’s Chickens’ F.S.I.S. inspection program and the company has resumed normal operations. Last week, the plant was closed over F.S.I.S.'s concerns relating to Salmonella risks.
There were never any issues with the food safety of any products in the marketplace relating to the plant closing. Murray’s Chickens processed products on Saturday, July 31, to catch up on fulfilling customers’ needs and continues to update delivery schedules.
“The support from our loyal customers and the 100 local family farmers who raise our poultry has helped to ease anxiety for our entire 350-person workforce over the past few days,” said Murray Bresky, chief executive officer of Murray’s. “For that, our heartfelt thanks.
“What we’ve learned in the past four days is that our goal as a company is to be better than before and to grow from the experience.”
An open invitation has also been issued by Bresky to visit his plant, announced our unannounced, to observe first-hand the operations.
