TUCKER, Ga. – The U.S. Poultry & Egg Harold E. Ford Foundation received an $18,047.11 donation from the International Poultry Scientific Forum (IPSF) during the Foundation's September meeting in Atlanta. The Ford Foundation provides financial support for poultry student recruiting efforts at universities and colleges, and funds research to continue the growth and progress of the poultry industry.

The check was presented to Ford Foundation chairman Monty Henderson, George's Inc., by Dr. Bob Buresh, Novus International, and executive secretary of the Southern Poultry Science Society (SPSS). The SPSS and Southern Conference on Avian Diseases (SCAD) sponsor the annual International Poultry Scientific Forum, held during the International Poultry Expo, in cooperation with U.S. Poultry and Egg Association.

"We are pleased to accept this donation on behalf of the Ford Foundation," Henderson said. "The Foundation is committed to the future of the poultry and egg industry through education and research. We are grateful to the International Poultry Scientific Forum for contributing to our efforts toward the long-term sustainability of our industry. We particularly thank their leadership, represented by Dr. Buresh, and Dr. Mark Jackwood, University of Georgia, and secretary-treasurer of SCAD."
