RESTON, Va. – On the afternoon of Nov. 10, the North American Meat Processors Association’s board of directors announced that another step has been made in creating a joint trade association with the National Meat Association (NMA). The NAMP board approved forming the new association on two conditions: approval by NAMP’s members and NAMP board approval of the legal documents for the new association.

More than 50 percent of NAMP’s regular members and 50 percent of its associate/allied members must participate in the member vote, and a majority of the regulars and a majority of the associates/allieds who participate must approve the action, according to the conditions passed.

“We intend to hold the membership vote as soon as reasonably possible after members have an ample opportunity to consider the information,” said a NAMP statement to its members.
