LANSING, ILL. — Land O’Frost has appointed Karen Malsom to the newly created position of director of innovation, where she will oversee retail product development. Land O’Frost is the nation’s third-largest lunch meat brand.
"The creation of this new position, and specifically the hiring of Karen, will help us continue to listen to the wants and needs of consumers," said David Van Eekeren, president of Land O’Frost. "Karen’s deep experience in marketing and packaging is a great asset for us. We are excited about the potential, and eager to bring new value added, innovative products to the marketplace."
Ms. Malsom previously worked for National Restaurant Association Solutions, where she managed marketing disciplines for the ServSafe brand and helped the company increase the business significantly over five years through effective multi-platform product strategies. Prior to the NRAS, Ms. Malsom spent 11 years at Pactiv Corporation in sales and marketing roles, including extensive new product development work in the food-container segment where she enjoyed taking products from concept through commercialization. She led the national product launches of a series of stock food containers, as well as had notable success launching custom products that met customer needs within the QSR segment.
