ELGIN, Ill. – Armor Inox, a leading manufacturer of thermal-processing systems for the food-processing industry with approximately $25 million in annual sales, has been acquired by The Middleby Corporation. This acquisition complements and further enhances Middleby’s growing food-processing equipment platform, the company said.
Armor Inox has earned a global reputation for using water in its Armor Inox Thermix cooking system to allow a highly efficient transfer of heat, rapid cook times and high cooking yields. The company said this system ensures control of the cooking cycle to deliver consistent products.
Selim Bassoul, Middleby’s chairman and CEO, said in the last 18 months his company has greatly expanded its food processing equipment platform by acquiring Armor Inox, Auto-Bake, Cozzini, Danfotech, Drake and Maurer-Atmos, which adds to its existing leading industry brands including Alkar, MP Equipment and RapidPak.
“As we complete the integration of these newly acquired brands, we also see significant opportunity to realize operational efficiencies amongst our expanded Food Processing Equipment Group,” he added.
The Middleby Corporation is a global leader in foodservice equipment. It develops, manufactures, markets and services a broad line of equipment used for commercial food cooking, preparation and processing.
