A 23-year-old native of Olive Branch, Miss., Stenhouse was the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year, competing in 32 of 35 races and capturing three top-five and eight top-10 finishes.
“Stock-car racing fans comprise a terrific consumer audience for Blackwell Angus beef,” said Ivan Brown, Angus programs brand manager. “They are brand-loyal to team sponsors, and anyone who has been to a race knows they do a lot of grilling and enjoy good beef. We’re bringing together one of the most popular sports in America and providing a powerful beef brand proposition to retailers, consumers and the stock-car-racing community. We’re eagerly looking forward to the start of the season and the first command of ‘Drivers, start your engines.’”
Blackwell Angus beef is also providing select retail markets with the opportunity for in-store autograph-signing sessions with Stenhouse during the race season. Retail partners will have access to promotional giveaway items including 1/64th-scale die-cast cars, shirts and hats, and point-of-sale kits, all adorned with Blackwell Angus beef Racing artwork designed to increase sales at the meat case. Artwork will feature Roush Fenway Racing, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and the No. 6 Ford Mustang.
“At the end of a race weekend, I enjoy spending time with family and friends gathered around the table for a steak dinner, which is one reason we’re excited to have Blackwell Angus beef as part of our pit crew again,” Stenhouse said. “Our team appreciates their continued support, and with their help, we anticipate an even better season than 2010 and look forward to driving the Blackwell Angus Ford Mustang onto victory lane.”
The Blackwell Angus beef sponsorship begins with the season’s first race in Daytona, Feb. 19. A complete list of Blackwell-Angus-beef-sponsored 2011 races can be found atwww.blackwellangusracing.com/tracker.
