The agreement is also aligned with JBS principles and with its shareholders, including the BNDES (Brazilian Social and Development Bank) with whom the company already has an ongoing agreement to implement innovative environmental practices throughout the meat supply chain, resulting in a more sustainable sector.
The agreement with these government authorities reinforces work being done by JBS with cattle ranchers. The company has enhanced the partnership with Embrapa (Brazilian Agriculture Research Institute) to promote Good Agricultural Practices (BPA) with cattle ranchers in all regions.
Public authorities praised JBS's initiative and hopes other companies will follow this progressiveness, the company said.
