TUCKER, Ga. – To help those that have suffered damage as a result of the tornados and associated storms that struck the Southeast last week, the US Poultry & Egg Association has created a storm relief fund. The association is identifying the relief organizations working in the area, particularly those that are serving the rural areas within the poultry industry, in which to donate the funds received.

"Like millions around the world, our hearts go out to those who have lost a loved one or suffered injury or property damage,” said John Starkey, president. “Our industry was particularly hard hit, and we would like to assist those that are in need however possible."

An initial $1,000 donation to the storm relief fund has been made by USPOULTRY. Tax-deductible donations can be made through USPOULTRY's Harold E. Ford Foundation by sending checks to USPOULTRY Harold E. Ford Foundation
C/O: Storm Relief Fund, 1530 Cooledge Road, Tucker, GA 30084. Or go online toUSPOULTRY's website, to make a donation electronically.

USPOULTRY plans to post where the funds are disbursed on its website, with 100 percent of all donations going to disaster relief.
