DES MOINES – Later this month, a judge will hear motions by Sholom Rubashkin, former manager of the Agriprocessors Inc. plant in Postville, Iowa, who has asked to have almost 100 counts against him dismissed and his trial moved to Minneapolis or Chicago, according to The Associated Press. Mr. Rubashkin faces multiple immigration and bank fraud charges.

Following a May 12 immigration raid at the northeast Iowa plant that resulted in the arrest of 389 people, a 99-count indictment against him and four other defendants was issued.

On Feb. 23, a federal judge will hear Mr. Rubashkin's motions to dismiss the indictment. Separate trials will be held on some charges and to address the motion to change the venue from Cedar Rapids to Minneapolis or Chicago.
