“Our remote video auditing programs are installed in about 50 percent of all US beef factories,” Aronson said during the segment.
“Some of the companies we work with include Sáo Paulo-Brazil-based JBS SA, the largest beef company in the world; Wayzata, Minn.-based Cargill Inc., which is one of the largest companies in the world on a number of fronts; and many other smaller companies,” Aronson said.
Most US meat companies are using tremendously comprehensive food-safety programs today, Aronson added. “We categorically have the safest food supply in the world plus tremendous oversight from USDA inspectors inside meat plants every day of the week,” he said. “But one challenge these companies face is conventional methods of monitoring performance at the employee level — you only see what you see. When you walk away, there’s a small portion of workers who deviate from the scores you might see when you’re there.”
