The Food Safety Summit Resource Center, featured in the Processing Zone, will host leading industry experts who will help processors respond to the many challenges they face on the job. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest food safety breakthroughs and gain valuable insight into potential solutions.

The exhibition floor will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Exhibitors have solutions for packaging, processing and converting professionals from a wide variety of industries including meat, poultry and seafood; dairy; bakery and snack; fruits, vegetables and produce; beverage; raw materials; flexible packaging; printers and converters; electronics and parts, and more.

The 2011 PMMI Education & Training Foundation Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, Sept. 25, the day before Pack Expo begins. Over 250 senior industry executives will network and golf at two 18-hole championship courses at the Paiute Golf Resort.

Leading associations also offer a variety of professional development opportunities at Pack Expo. Educational sessions include panel discussions, seminars, technology briefings and full-day conferences on subjects such as safety and security, sustainability, operational reliability, and simulation and modeling techniques to optimize efficiency.

In addition, former Secretary of State and retired General Colin L. Powell will be the keynote speaker at Pack Expo Leadership Lecture during the tradeshow. General Powell’s address, titled “Diplomacy: Persuasion, Trust & Values,” will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the convention center.

“Colin Powell has made a tremendous impact on the landscape of the global climate, both politically and socially,” said Charles D. Yuska, president & CEO of PMMI. “Now, we are fortunate that he continues to share his insights and lessons of leadership even in his private life.”

Pack Expo Las Vegas alternates years with Pack Expo held at Chicago’s McCormick Place, which will be held Oct. 28-31, 2012. The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) sponsors these events as well as Expo Pack Mexico, a similar exposition held this past June in Mexico City, Mexico.

A registration to Pack Expo this year will include access to CPP EXPO (Converting & Package Printing) also held at the convention center. From digital pre-press and workflow solutions to finishing equipment, CPP Expo covers the changes and evolutions in package printing, coating, slitting and other state-of-the-art materials and services for streamlining operations and improving quality.

Exhibit passes to Pack Expo purchased on or before Sept. 7 are $30 and increase to $60 thereafter. Education sessions and the keynote leadership lecture by Gen. Powell are extra.
