SHANNON, Miss. – Sara Lee announced it will close a plant in Shannon, Miss., by March 30, according to the Associated Press.
The Shannon plant makes Bryan Smokies cocktail sausages, and has been operating since 1997. Mike Cummins, director of corporate communications, said production will move to Sara Lee's Claryville, Ky., and St. Joseph, Mo., facilities. The plant closure will put 155 people out of work, according to AP.
