JACKSON, Miss. — Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire the commercial egg operations of Maxim Production Co., Inc. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The assets to be acquired include a feed mill and two production complexes with a capacity for about 3.5 million laying hens and related pullet capacity located near Boling, Texas. The acquisition also includes a contract capacity for about 500,000 laying hens near Gonzalez, Texas.

This transaction further advances our strategy to grow our business through selective acquisitions. The transaction is expected to close in November.
