TUCKER, Ga. – Clemson Univ. is the latest recipient of a $2,500 student recruiting grant from the USPOULTRY Foundation.
The Foundation's board approved student recruiting grants totaling more than $160,000 to the six US universities with poultry science departments and 15 additional institutions with industry-related programs. The Foundation provides annual recruiting funds to colleges and universities to attract students to poultry programs.
“The Animal and Veterinary Sciences Department appreciates the continued support of the USPOULTRY Foundation to help in apprising high school and college students of the many opportunities at Clemson Univ. to become involved in poultry science coursework and extracurricular activities," said Dr. Glen Birrenkott, professors of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Clemson Univ. "The poultry industry is very important to the South Carolina economy and offers many internship and career opportunities for undergraduates in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences.”
