OMAHA — ConAgra Foods’ first Corporate Responsibility Report is now available online through the company’s web site. It features the facts and data behind ConAgra Foods’ commitment to improving the food it makes — such as Healthy Choice meals — and its methods and operations in making its brands.
The report highlights the company’s performance in climate change, packaging, food safety, employee relations, corporate giving and a wide range of other important topics.
ConAgra Foods said it has many initiatives under way to conserve energy, reduce waste and save resources. These efforts are represented by packaging, product and supply-chain improvements. The company’s frozen food trays are the first in North America to use post-consumer recycled material an effort that is expected to eliminate 8 million lbs of landfill waste annually.
The company said it is also fighting to nourish kids’ bodies and minds today so they have the opportunity to flourish later in life. The ConAgra Foods Foundation focuses on combating child hunger and enabling nutrition education programs and services. ConAgra has provided more than 166 million lbs of food to families in need and it has donated more than $25 million in grants to support programs and initiatives that feed children and families in need during the past 12 years.
