OAK BROOK, Ill. – McDonald’s is the new Official Restaurant Sponsor of the National Football League and the presenting sponsor of the 2013 Pro Bowl.
“We are pleased to welcome McDonald's to our family of NFL sponsors,” said Brian Rolapp, COO of NFL Media. “We are excited to be working with McDonald's to bring our fans closer to the game with unique experiences during the Pro Bowl and all season long.”
The sponsorship begins in December with a Chicken McNuggets Pro Bowl giveaway and social media promotion at participating restaurants, the company said. As part of the promotion, consumers can buy a 20-piece Chicken McNuggets and sauce for $4.99 for a chance to win tickets to the 2013 Pro Bowl. The giveaway runs Dec. 4-18. Up to 20 customers who purchase 20-piece Chicken McNuggets will receive travel for two to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl, including airfare, accommodations, tailgates and two tickets to the game. Followers of McDonald's Twitter handle, @McDonalds, who use #McDProBowl, will have a chance to win a pair of tickets by Dec. 18, 2012.
“McDonald's has worked with local NFL teams for decades, and today we are proud to be the official restaurant sponsor,” said Neil Golden, senior vice President and chief marketing officer, McDonald's USA. “McDonald's customers and NFL fans share a passion for fun, exciting experiences. This sponsorship and promotion brings our customers one step closer to NFL action.”
