WASHINGTON – Shell eggs broken increased 5 percent to total 183,000,000 dozen during October 2012 and 2 percent above the 180,000,000 broken in November, according to the US Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).
NASS said shell eggs broken totaled 1.8 billion dozen during calendar year 2012 through October, up 2 percent from the comparable period in 2011. Currently, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2012 gained 2 percent to 2.3 billion lbs.
