LIVINGSTON, CALIF. — Foster Farms is pleased to have reached an agreement with Pilgrim’s Pride for the purchase of Pilgrim’s Farmerville, La., chicken production complex, said Ron Foster, chief executive officer of Foster Farms. Pilgrim's Pride in a press release issued March 20 announced plans for the sale.

Pending an asset purchase agreement additional details are not available, Mr. Foster said.

"This purchase represents a significant opportunity for the Farmerville community and for our family owned poultry company," he added. "We take great pride in the quality of our products, the dedication and skills of our employees, and look forward to many decades of shared success in this new venture.

"We are grateful to the people of Louisiana and especially to Governor Bobby Jindal and his staff for their enthusiastic support throughout this process," Mr. Foster concluded.
