FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno County authorities announced a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person officials believe intentionally started a fire at a feedlot owned by Harris Ranch this past month.

The blaze engulfed 14 tractors and damaged several trailer rigs parked at the facility in Coalinga, Calif. No people or animals were hurt during the fire, which began around 4 am on Jan. 8. Harris Ranch estimated the loss at more than $2 million.

Animal-rights activists claimed responsibility for the fire via an e-mail released by the North American Animal Liberation Press Office (NAALPO). The e-mail included a detailed description of the containers of accelerant and kerosene-soaked rope the group claims they used to set the fire.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact the Fresno County Sheriff's office.
