Hazleton, Pa. – Negotiations between The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1176 and officials with Wichita, Kan.-based Cargill Meat Solutions resulted in the approval of a five-year contract by more than 600 workers at the case-ready beef plant. According to a report from The Times Leader, the contract was approved by 97 percent of the union workers and included wage increases and increased health-care benefits.
