BRISBANE, Australia – Teys Australia, a joint venture between Cargill and the Teys Brothers, has installed closed circuit cameras in the company's slaughtering facilities, according to a report from ABC Rural.
The move came in response to general consumer concerns about animal welfare practices in the Australian meat industry. Teys hopes the cameras will reassure customers that the company is following appropriate animal welfare practices, according to the report. Teys Australia operates facilities in South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland.
