SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Two Tyson Foods’ microwavable Mini Breakfast Bowls are in distribution at club stores throughout the United States — a bacon, egg and cheese; and a sausage, egg and cheese style. Each club store carton weighs 2.25 lbs. and contains 12 servings.
“These launched at club stores in October,” Tyson spokesman Worth Sparkman told MEATPOULTRY.com. “The bacon, egg and cheese variety began to ship to some retail customers recently along with two new lunch bowls — chicken, broccoli and cheese and a chicken bacon club. Retail packages weigh 1 lb."
The products are selling for roughly $9.98 in clubs and $5.49 at retail grocers, he added.
During a Feb. 4 media teleconference, Donnie Smith, Tyson president and chief executive officer, said, “We have new items primarily in the club store channel today called Mini Breakfast Bowls. The launch has gone very well. We’re feeling pretty good about our ability to play in that [breakfast] daypart. So, you’re likely to see more breakfast-type offerings [coming from Tyson].”
