BOSTON – UFood Restaurant Group Inc. has partnered with Euro Café to test a newly created co-branded “mobile cafe” in Washington DC. The eatery is based on a limited-menu restaurant operated within a Mercedes Benz super-truck.

This concept was designed to serve items such as veggie burgers, cage-free egg white breakfast sandwiches, organic salads, flatbread sandwiches and fruit dishes.

UFood and Euro Café plan to find new franchisees from within the ranks of US military veterans to captain the new mobile units, which is in line with UFood’s recent entrée into the military channel with UFood Grill’s healthier menu. This spring they plan to open three new restaurants at the Aberdeen Proving Ground military complex in Aberdeen, Md.
