PINE BLUFF, Ark. – A group of California investors plans to utilize a former Tyson Foods Inc. poultry plant in 2012 to process hens, according to a report from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
Horizon Foods LP bought the plant in Pine Bluff, Ark., where about 170 jobs are expected to be created. The company has spent about $3 million renovating the plant, which was built in 1957 and closed in 2003. The company will receive $329,000 from the Economic Development Alliance of Jefferson County that will be used for a refrigeration system.
