CINCINNATI – Suzanne Lindsay has joined The Kroger Co. as director of sustainability, the company announced on March 13. She will be responsible for the company's internal sustainability initiatives and will lead the Sustainability Leadership Team.
Lindsay's background in sustainability enterprises includes leading initiatives at PetSmart Inc. She also has worked in real estate and civil engineering, Kroger said. She has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Lawrence Technological Univ. in Southfield, Mich.
"We have made substantial progress in sustainability in the past five years through energy savings, waste reduction, transportation efficiency and by reducing the use of plastic bags," said Lynn Marmer, group vice president of corporate affairs at Kroger. "Suzanne will help us accelerate our progress and identify new opportunities to improve our environmental stewardship. We are pleased that she is joining the Kroger family.
