The Wendy’s Co. announced March 23 that Steve Farrar, chief operating officer, will retire effective April 20.

The company said John Peters, senior vice president of North American operations, will assume Farrar’s duties, which include overseeing operations and business activities for company-owned and franchise restaurants in North America. Farrar previously served as the company’s senior vice president of Wendy’s western division from 1992 to 2006. Peters joined the company in 1983. He previously served as senior vice president of the western region from 2006 to 2010.
