TAMPA, Fla. – Bloomin’ Brands, parent company of Outback Steakhouse, has named David Deno as its next chief financial officer according to a report in the Tampa Bay Times.
Deno was CFO of Best Buy’s international operations following a 15-year tenure at Pepsico’s Yum Brands. He has resigned from the board of Brinker International to take the job. Brinker owns Chili’s and Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurants.
He assumes the CFO role at the company during a time of transition to a public company. Bloomin’ Brands is trying to raise $300 million through an initial public offering in an attempt to pay down part of the company’s $2.1 billion in highly leveraged debt.
Deno replaces Dirk Montgomery, who has taken a new position as chief value chain officer overseeing productivity and efficiency initiatives at OSI Restaurant Partners LLC, the operating parent of Bloomin’ Brands.
