HONG KONG – Burger King Hong Kong hopes to win fans with its limited-time offering of a black truffle Angus burger, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The truffle burger comes with extra-thick patties, curly endive, cheese, bacon, tomato and mayonnaise mixed with Italian black truffles. The burger costs HK$38 (US$4.89) by itself or HK$49.50 (US$6.38) with medium fries and a drink. The truffle burger is part of the King’s Collection, a line of premium hamburgers on offer for the company’s Chinese customers.
The Kings Collection comes on the heels of other fast-food chains’ gourmet offerings, such as Wendy’s foie gras burger and truffle and porcini grilled chicken sandwich offered in Japan for US$16 and US$12 each, respectively.
