CHATEAULIN, France – French poultry processor Doux suspended two key executives with no explanation for the move, according to news reports.
Guy Odri, chief executive officer and Herrick Pinguet, secretary general, were relieved of their duties following Doux’s decision to give control of the company’s Brazilian operations to JBS. Odri has held the CEO post at Doux since 2003.
JBS began leasing poultry plants from Doux in early May with the aim of increasing JBS’s poultry production capacity. Doux appears to be pulling out of Brazil; the company shuttered two poultry processing plants in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande Do Sul.
