ST. CLOUD, Minn. – GNP Company reported $338 million in annual sales for 2011, a year in which the poultry industry overall experienced many challenges.
In its third Farm to Fork Report, GNP highlights notable achievements in four key areas — people, poultry and progress.
“People expect us to be forthcoming about what’s working and what can be improved. Not only from an accountability standpoint, but also to help people better understand the processes behind their food. This report helps build confidence through that information,” said Mike Helgeson, chief executive officer of GNP.
Some of GNP’s successes include:
• Completion of a multi-year expansion of the company’s Cold Spring Wastewater Treatment Plant, giving GNP state-of-the-art water reclamation and treatment capabilities;
• Benefits from GNP’s Arcadia expansion;
• GNP’s Just BARE brand achieving American Humane Certified Farm Program standards; and
• Receiving recognition from the United Way of Central Minnesota.
