WASHINGTON – Windsor Quality Food Co., Toluca, Ill., recalled approximately 96,480 lbs. of meat lasagna on concerns about undeclared egg and soy, said according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The items recalled were:
• Retail cartons of “Safeway Select Five Cheese Lasagna” with a package code of April 4, 2013.
• Shipping cases of “Safeway Select Meat Lasagna” with a Best By date of April 4, 2013.
The company discovered the problem after receiving two consumer complaints, FSIS said. The problem may have occurred because the meat lasagna product was inadvertently packaged in a cheese lasagna carton. FSIS and Windsor Quality Foods have received no reports of adverse reactions associated with consumption of these products.
The lasagna products were produced on April 4 and shipped to retailers in Alaska, California, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Idaho, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Washington and Virginia.
