CHATTANOOGA – An additional 105 people will lose their jobs at the Chattanooga Pilgrim’s Pride deboning plant, bringing the total jobs eliminated at the plant to 190, according to the Associated Press.
Plant employees were notified May 24 about the initial layoffs, which are effective at week’s end. However, the company said it expects to recall many of the laid-off workers as other positions within the plant become available.
The company said it expects the latest round of layoffs to be the last as Pilgrim's looks to improve plant efficiencies.
