NEW YORK – S&P Indices will make changes to the S&P 500 and S&P MidCap 400 indices.
The Sara Lee stub will be renamed Hillshire Brands Co., and Hillshire Brands will replace Monster Beverage Inc. in the S&P MidCap 400 index after trading closes June 28. Sara Lee is spinning off its Coffee & Tea business. Monster Beverage will replace Sara Lee Corp. in the S&P 500 index.
Hillshire Brands will focus on meat-based food products. The company will be added to the S&P MidCap 400 GICS Packaged Foods & Meats Sub-Industry Index. S&P Indices is a McGraw-Hill Companies brand and maintains a wide variety of benchmark indices.
